A Season That Went Swimmingly

The Emerald Force Swim team had its best season in program history this summer! The team swam seven meets, three tri meets, two dual meets, and two all-league meets (Smoky Mountain and City Meet). Emerald Youth hosted five regular season dual and tri meets, where the team finished the regular season at 6-1 — the best ever.

In and out of the pool, swimmers were reminded of God’s love for them through team devotions and prayers, and at the City Meet, Emerald Force team member Lana Wilson delivered the opening prayer before hundreds of participants.

Overall, Emerald Force Swim had 60 kids participate between pre-team and competitive team, and 10 pre-team swimmers learned to swim well enough to be on the competition team in 2022!

During City Meet at the University of Tennessee’s Allan Jones Aquatic Center, four swimmers — Elliana Larkins, Anderson Adcock, Cristian DeLauder and Alyssa Gray — all went to finals, also a first in team history. The four swam the 100-yard mixed freestyle relay and scored fifth overall.

Elliana Larkins came in second place in both the 50-yard freestyle and 25-yard backstroke. In the girls 8-years-old and under group, she placed fifth in the 100-yard individual medley.

Anderson Adcock, a part of the 9-10-year-old boys group, placed eighth overall in the 100-yard individual medley, fifth in the 50-yard freestyle, and 12th in the 25-yard butterfly.

Cristian DeLauder placed 13th overall in the 100-yard individual medley within the 9-10-year-old boys group.

Alyssa Gray, in the girls 9-10-year old group, placed seventh overall in the individual medley, fourth in the 50-yard freestyle, and third in the 25-yard butterfly.

As a team, the swimmers scored 149 point in turn defeating the 6 other teams in their league by more than 100 points!

Congratulations to these amazing swimmers on such a great season — we can’t wait for next summer!
