Tate was born and raised in Knoxville. Although he lived in North Carolina for a few years, he came back home to Rocky Top and has been here since 2014.

Tate is a Knoxville Catholic High School graduate and went on to study sports management at Pellissippi State.

Tate has experience volunteering in various sports management roles, and was eager to join a sports program that provides positive, fun, and competitive opportunities for youth in Knoxville. Tate knows first hand the positive impact Emerald can make, as he was involved in the basketball program from 7th-9th grade. He loves that he now has the opportunity to help young people grow and maintain a healthy lifestyle, not only physically, but spiritually and emotionally, as well.

 In his free time, Tate enjoys playing basketball and videos games, spending time with his wife and fur babies, and going to movies at the theater with his son.
