Former Banking Professional Joins Emerald Youth
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Sanford Miller has joined Emerald Youth Foundation as corporate sponsorship director, returning to the organization where his career began.
Miller first worked at Emerald Youth more than a decade ago, where the former University of Tennessee football player used his skills and passion for athletics to lead Emerald’s sports programs. He then pursued a career in financial services with Home Federal Bank, Primerica and most recently Fifth Third Bank.
“I am honored to be back with Emerald Youth and use my experience in banking and sales to raise support for our ministry with young people,” said Miller. “As a native of east Knoxville, I benefitted from youth-serving organizations like Emerald during my childhood, and in this new role, I can give back to kids in the heart of our city in a unique way.”
Miller is a graduate of South-Doyle High School, attended the University of Tennessee, and received his bachelor’s degree from Tusculum College. He devotes many volunteer hours coaching youth sports, serving with United Way of Greater Knoxville, and on Tusculum College’s Presidential Advisory Committee. He was honored as a member of the Greater Knoxville Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2016.
“We are beyond thrilled to have Sanford on our development team,” said Emerald Youth President and CEO Steve Diggs. “He joins our many quality staff members who are committed to changing the trajectory for Knoxville’s urban youth, and I look forward to working with him in his new role.”
Miller is married to wife Shay and they have two sons, Tyson and Zane.
