Born and raised in Knoxville, Libby graduated from South Doyle High School in 2016. She went on to Pellissippi State Community College and Tusculum University where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and recently graduated from the University of Tennessee with a master’s degree in social work.
Libby began serving with Emerald Youth in 2022 as an intern and is excited to move into her new position as the Calling & Career Ministry Coordinator in South Knoxville so that she can continue to develop relationships with young people and help them on their journey to discover who God created them to be. As a native to South Knoxville, she loves the area and believes that Emerald has a great deal to offer the students and families there.
Libby enjoys time with her parents, Chris and Rebekah, who are also Knoxville natives and University of Tennessee graduates, and her sister, Jessica. She likes to be outside swimming, kayaking, horseback riding, or playing sports like soccer, pickle ball and golf. When inside she enjoys cooking and baking.
For the past several years, Micah 6:8 has been a source of encouragement for Libby. She looks to the truths in this verse when life feels overwhelming. It reminds her not to worry about life’s demands and getting everything right, but to simply honor God by loving what he loves: justice, kindness and humility.
