Kiandra Mercer is originally from Memphis, TN where she graduated as Valedictorian of her high school class. She then moved to Knoxville to attend The University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work and continued her education to receive her master’s degree in social work.

She started as a student intern with Emerald Youth’s East Calling and Career through the College of Social Work at UT. Through her time at UT and interning with Calling and Career, Kiandra knew she wanted to join Emerald Youth to expand her skills while also pouring into the youth of her community and supporting them in their journeys of becoming well rounded individuals.

Kiandra attends Overcoming Believers Church and is involved in the dance ministry and volunteers with her youth department where she assists them in preparing for youth Sunday services. In her free time, Kiandra enjoys catching up on her favorite shows, trying new restaurants, and cooking.

Her favorite bible verse is Psalm 46:5, “God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.”
