To raise up a large number of urban youth to love Jesus Christ and become effective leaders who help renew their communities
We, a group of people who grew up in the places in which we serve and others who have joined the Kingdom cause from other neighborhoods, share an unwavering and accountable commitment to an increasing organizational culture of:
We strive to shape our thoughts, attitudes, and actions after the servant leader model of Jesus Christ. (Phil 2:5-8)
We work hard and unselfishly, in Christian community, to fulfill our unique ministry roles and to bring out the best in each other.
We passionately aim to always be getting better by evaluating, discerning, growing, and discovering new and improved ideas to put into action.
We adopt practices and high standards which support a life worthy of our calling and able to meet long-term the expectations of our service with others.
Emerald Youth Foundation agrees with the Apostles' Creed as our primary statement of faith:
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,*
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
